◆ Trial Course



for those who want just try!

● 6 lessons in 3 months, one lesson:1.5h

● ¥25,000 (material, firing, fee included)

● Curriculumns

(1) small bowl, (2) Tea cup, (3) Salad plate, (4) Soup cup, (5) flat plate, (6) painting



◆ Primary Course



You can master basic techniques of pottery making by hand in accordance with our curriculums.

One lesson takes 2 hours.
The course consists of 12 lessons. You will take the lessons once a week or twice a week and finish the course within a period of three months.

You can be enrolled at any time by appointment with Mrs. Kato.

● Curriculums:

1. Teacup
2. Tea ceremony bowl
3. Vase
4. Slab plate
5. Big bowl
6. Plate
7. Mug
8. Japanese sake cups and sake bottle
9. Pitcher
10. Large vase


◆ Middle Course


After finishing the primary course, you may be advanced to the Middle Course. In the Middle Course, you use a bench whirler for shaping, but begin to learn trimming with the electric wheel.

You begin to learn underglaze painting on biscuit ware and glazing.

● Curriculums:

1. A set of small bowls (brush stroke with white slip)
2. A set of dessert plates (painting on biscuit ware with cobalt oxide (Gosu in Japanese) or iron oxide (Tetsu in Japanese))
3. Big bowl with spout (ORIBE style decoration by painting with iron oxide)
4. A set of rice bowls (underglaze painting)
5. Pasta plate (underglaze painting)
6. Big plate (white slip and sgraffito decoration)
7. Big noodle bowl (decoration with colored glazes)
8. Plate and bowl (pottery with moulds)
9. Teapot




◆ Advanced Course


Some students in this course have such a long experience of pottery making as 10 to 15 years. You will be able to make your own original works.

You learn pottery making with the electric wheel, high-level techniques of pottery making by hand, and over-glaze painting.


● Curriculums:

Square bowl, square bottle, oval bowl, oval vase, and any other form designed by yourself.

● Besides these courses, a special lesson of water-color sketches is held once a month, which is helpful to design your own original painting patterns for your works.
